NPCL ADMS implementation-India

Objective: To transform NPCL’s traditional utility into a smart grid by implementing an ADMS to improve network reliability, performance, and customer response.

The Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) project is one of the largest smart grid initiatives in India.

EnerCom provided engineering and project execution leadership role along with the ETAP Automation to design, implement, and conduct FAT and SAT tests on SCADA, DMS and OMS system as unified platform and provided engineering and operational trainings and related documents.

Scope of Work:
System Design and Architecture:
  • Design the ADMS architecture, including communication protocols and
    integration with existing systems.
  • Develop intelligent monitoring, control, automation, and decision support
    systems.
  • Implement substation automation using IEC 61850 standards.
Integrated Functionality
  • Integrate SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DMS
    (Distribution Management System), and OMS (Outage Management
    System) functionalities.
  • Ensure open and scalable smart grid functionalities and distribution
    network applications.
Network Modelling and Planning:
  • Perform integrated network modelling, planning, and distribution analysis.
  •  Utilize geospatial information system (GIS) integration and electrical
  • power system simulation capabilities.
Implementation and Commissioning:
  • Install and configure the ADMS software and hardware components.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing
  • (SAT) to validate system functionality and performance.
Training and Documentation:
  • Provide training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel on system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including system architecture,
  • configuration details, and maintenance procedures.
Support and Maintenance
  •  Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure system reliability and security.
